GoLive connects the PCs, but it doesn’t create the network. Everyone needs to be on the same virtual LAN. Start with step 1.

01Step by step

From zero to your first room.

A shared network, the app installed and your friends ready to join.

  1. Join the same virtual network

Any one works, as long as everyone uses the same one. If you already use one to play, that’s the one.

    Radmin VPN

Free, no sign-up. One person creates the network and the others join with its name and password. Rooms show up in the list by themselves.

    Download Radmin VPN

    Tailscale

Free for up to 100 devices, with a Google or GitHub login. Connects directly in more situations — use it if Radmin stays below 10 Mbps. Here, join using the address of whoever created the room.

    Download Tailscale

  2. Install GoLive

Open the .exe and you’re done. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info and then Run anyway — the warning appears because the installer doesn’t have a paid digital signature yet.

  3. One person creates the room

The Create room button, at the top of Home. Choose the type — Table (games, video and screens in windows) or Streams only —, the name and, if you like, a PIN. The first time, Windows asks to open the port in the firewall: accept.

  4. The others join

The room shows up by itself under On your network — just click Join. If it doesn’t show up, paste the room’s address into Join by address. Everyone needs to be on the same version of the app.

02Can your upload handle it?

The picture leaves from your PC.

With no video server in the middle, the streamer’s upload is the ceiling. From three viewers on, the viewers themselves help pass the picture along.

What you need.

Windows 10 or 11

There’s no Mac or Linux version yet.

Radmin VPN or Tailscale

The same virtual network for the whole group.

Up to about 7 people

Per room, counting the streamer. Beyond that, the streamer’s PC starts to struggle.
