Help to keep the room going.

From the virtual network to the video that didn’t arrive: understand the path the stream takes and fix what usually interrupts the night.

Network and upload

The streamer’s upload is the ceiling for everything.

The streamer sends one copy of the video to each viewer. With two people streaming, each viewer’s download doubles too.

Upload needed at 1080p60 — 12 Mbps per viewer

1~12 Mbps
2~24 Mbps
3~36 Mbps
5~60 Mbps

RADMIN VPN

If it got slow, it may not be going direct.

When Radmin can’t link the PCs directly — common with internet providers that use CGNAT — the connection goes through one of its servers and bandwidth drops to a few Mbps. If the room stutters even with upload to spare, switch to Tailscale.

TAILSCALE

You join the room by address.

Tailscale doesn’t spread room announcements, so rooms don’t show up in the list by themselves. Whoever created the room copies the address (100.x.x.x) and the others paste it into Join by address.

Diagnostics

Something went wrong?

Open the question that looks most like what showed up on your screen.

“This room is on version X and you’re on Y”

Everyone in the room needs to be on exactly the same version. Use the Check for updates button, below the room list on the app’s Home. If the newest version is yours, it’s the room’s creator who needs to update.

“Couldn’t connect”

The room’s creator needs to have GoLive open — their PC is the host. If allowing it through the firewall failed, a notice appears with an Allow network access button: click it and accept Windows’ confirmation.

It connects, the person shows up, but the video doesn’t arrive

First check whether the PCs can see each other on the virtual network: ping the other person’s address. Radmin sometimes blocks this traffic; if it keeps happening, switch to Tailscale.

Someone’s screen froze

The frame itself says what happened: “No contact with X’s PC” (network), “X stopped sending video” (the streamer’s PC) or “Recovering the picture…”. Short drops recover on their own.

fps stuck at 30

Open Settings › Diagnostics and look at Limited by: it tells you whether the bottleneck is the network, the CPU or the video encoder.

No sound

Capture picks up the sound coming out of Windows, not the microphone. If your player or DAC uses exclusive output (WASAPI exclusive), the sound arrives muted — turn that mode off.

I need to send a log to someone

Settings › Diagnostics › Open logs folder. There’s one file per session (the last 8). Send it along with your suggestion or report.

How it works under the hood

A tree takes the load off the source PC.

Streaming to each person costs one video encoder per person — and that, more than the internet, is what makes a stream drop frames. That’s why GoLive asks up to two viewers to relay to two more each.

The source streams to two relays, and each relay sends the video to two more viewers. source relay watch

01 / TREE

Relay tree

You → up to 2 relays → up to 2 friends each. About 7 people fit with just 2 encoders on your PC. Anyone beyond that gets the stream straight from you.

02 / QUALITY

Automatic quality

What you choose is a ceiling. The app steps down a level when the room reaches 3 people or the encoder is under strain, and steps back up when there’s headroom.

03 / CONTINUITY

The room changes hands

If the room’s creator leaves, someone else takes over the server and everyone reconnects to them. If that PC goes down for good, the others find it by IP within seconds to a few minutes.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Is it really free?

Yes. The connection runs over your own virtual network, so there’s no server to pay for. Optional extras may come in the future — what’s already free stays free. Learn more.

Can anyone see my stream?

Only the people in the room. The video goes straight from PC to PC over the virtual network, with no GoLive server in between. The optional PIN keeps someone on the same network from walking in by accident.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You pick a nickname and an avatar in the app itself, and they stay on your PC only.

Does it work on Mac, Linux or phones?

For now, only on Windows 10 and 11.

Why does Windows warn that the app might be dangerous?

The installer doesn’t have a digital signing certificate yet (they’re paid and expensive). Click More info › Run anyway. Always download from this site.

How many people fit in a room?

About 7 comfortably, counting the streamer. You can have more, but each extra person starts to weigh on the streamer’s PC and upload.

Can we play at the Table without anyone streaming?

Yes. The Table works on its own: games, watching videos together and tools don’t depend on anyone sharing their screen.
